FUTURUM

Editorial Design & Case Study

Project Overview

Design and layout of an educational case study focused on mental health awareness.

Brief

Working in collaboration with Futurum Careers, I was tasked with designing a

case study for the University of Nottingham centred on increasing mental health literacy among young people. The aim was to present important and sensitive subject matter in a way that is clear, engaging and accessible to a younger audience, while aligning with Futurum’s established brand style.

Solution

The design followed a clean and contemporary visual approach, in keeping with Futurum’s existing publications. I worked with a set of high-quality, characterful illustrations provided by Aardman, integrating them into the layout to create an engaging and approachable tone while maintaining the professionalism required for an educational resource.

Careful attention was given to structure, typography and visual hierarchy to ensure the content was easy to navigate and digest. The layout balances informative text with engaging visuals, supporting readability while encouraging engagement with the topic.

Outcome

The final case study successfully communicates complex and sensitive information in a visually accessible and engaging format. The combination of strong editorial design and carefully integrated illustration creates a resource that supports learning while maintaining a professional and cohesive brand identity.
